. . . . . Casino square. Moda Pier, one of the oldest piers in Istanbul, was designed in the neoclassical style between 1916 and 1917 by the Architect Vedat Tek. The historical pier has been used for many things including as a restaurant, pier, and casino. After being restored and renovated by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Department of Cultural Heritage, it reopened on August 19th, 2022, as a book-cafe and library. The library welcomes readers to it’s open-air study areas, terrace, performance area, and rich selection of books. Moda Pier Library has a capacity of 100 people in an area of 250 square meters, and its collection consists of 6,500 book covering many genres such as literature, History, political science, philosophy, research and review, art, informatics, technology, science, religion, self-improvement, cultural heritage, architecture and design books, children's books, and periodicals. All residents of the region can benefit from the lending services of the Moda Pier Library as well as all libraries affiliated to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Department of Cultural Heritage, Directorate of Libraries and Museums. Readers who wish to become members should apply to our libraries with an officially valid identity document such as a TR ID card, driver's license, or passport..
